As you can probably tell by the name Sham likes to go visiting. He has now visited England, Ireland, Scotland, Greece, Peru, the U.S. and Spain!
If you are an Indie Shaman member and would like him to stay with you please post your name on the list in the member’s section of the Indie Shaman Forum or contact us quoting your membership number.
The idea is that the person who looks after Shaman Sham will take photographs and give a brief outline of what he got up to while he was visiting which is then posted on Sham's blog page.
Shaman Sham's Wandering Rules
- Shaman Sham stays with people for a maximum of 2 months. He can be returned whenever you want before that time. When he is returned the next person is contacted on the list to see if they are ready to have him.
- Shaman Sham’s visiting list is taken in order of request with possible exceptions being made for people outside the UK who may be grouped together by country to reduce postage costs.
- Shaman Sham would like to go to any events Indie Shaman might organise or attend so the list may also be worked around any such events.
- Photos must be sent by email or via post. If you email photos please send them as a jpeg. If you want posted photos returned please send a stamped addressed envelope.
- Photos must only include other people if you have their permission. You must let them know first that the photos may be used on the Indie Shaman website and in the Indie Shaman Magazine. Photographers take full responsibility in the event of consent not being sought.
- By sending photos and notes or by posting on the Diary you give permission to Indie Shaman to publish any and all images and text and give Indie Shaman copyright of the information.
- The Indie Shaman member who has him can stay anonymous for story purposes if they want or have their name included.
- Please take good care of Shaman Sham so he stays in good condition for as long as possible - keep him in a smoke free zone so he's pleasant for non smoking members to have in their house, sit him on something if you want to photograph him on damp or mucky surfaces, don't let him go for a walk in the rain etc.
- If you want to make things for Shaman Sham please feel free but please do not pass anything on to the next person that would increase the cost of postage. Please do not pass anything on to Indie Shaman that you want returned.
- Please do not do anything to Shaman Sham that may permanently alter his appearance.
Postage
- Because of confidentiality Shaman Sham can be returned directly to Indie Shaman. However if you are happy for the previous person on the list to post directly to you please do let us know as it saves Indie Shaman money in postage.
- If the postage costs* would stop you from participating please contact Indie Shaman in confidence and we will pay your postage for you.
- Because of the larger cost involved and so Shaman Sham the Wandering Hedgehog can travel the world Indie Shaman will send him out of the UK unless a member offers otherwise.
- Shaman Sham has his own travel box/bag which we will replace when it starts to fall apart. He will also travel with a set of return labels and the box will have one of our usual 'if not delivered return to' labels on addressed to Indie Shaman in case he gets lost. Please do not remove the 'if not delivered return to' label unless it is to replace it with a fresh one.

Postage from UK to Europe £3.91
Postage from UK to the rest of the world £6.67
Sorry we cannot give information about the postage costs in all countries. If you would like to work these out Shaman Sham in a box weighs 552g.
