The Goddess Show 2008
Indie Shaman enjoyed a wonderful day at the Goddess Show West on Sunday 11th May and can highly recommend the Goddess Show experience to anyone! There was a choice of 14 free workshops, talks and performances together with a variety of stands selling fairtrade, holistic, arts, crafts, clothes, books plus therapy tasters and readers. A cafe and free parking was available together with free entertainment for children.
It wasn't possible to experience all the workshops and performances so hard choices had to be made. June enjoyed a belly dance for beginners workshop with Carmen Jones. Carmen also did a beautiful Arabic dance performance later on in the day. Not to be missed is the traditional Romani Gypsy Ritual Theatre with Patrick Jasper Lee and the Jal Folk Theatre Company which was very accurately described in the programme as a sensational piece of ancient theatre from an indigenous Romani Chovihano. Other workshops well worth a mention were the Tribal Goddess of our Lands by Jo Hooper with Patrick Jasper Lee and the traditional Romani Gypsy Ritual Healing demonstration.
There are 4 shows throughout the year in various areas and at only £4.00 for entry with a buy one get one free offer online the shows are not only a wonderfully entertaining, friendly and educational experience but great value too.
