Love as though you've never been hurt

Sing as though no-one can hear you

About Indie Shaman

Indie Shaman aims to provide a means of helping people answer questions about life, promote self discovery and self development, and encourage respect for the self, the community and the land.

We aim to do this by providing a supportive network for those interested in a Shamanic way of life and for Shaman from all cultures and for those of mixed heritage as well as those who are unsure yet as to where their cultural heritage lies. There are many cultures and tribal traditions that have a history of Shamanic practices, for example: Mongolia, Siberia, Romany Gypsy, some Native American tribes, Celtic, Korea. There are many people who are able to practice their Shamanism within their traditional culture. However there are many people today who have mixed heritage or who are not sure of their heritage but equally feel a call to Shamanism.

In the modern world it may be difficult to even understand who your tribe or community may be. Many Shaman and Shamanic Practitioners, particularly those who are of mixed heritage or unsure of their heritage feel they stand alone or independent. In some respects all Shaman could be considered independent as in each tribe there was traditionally only one individual working as a Shaman. However that Shaman would have had the understanding and support of their tribe or community as well as, at some point in their lives, the support of the previous Shaman. These days Shaman and Shamanic Practitioners are not always that fortunate and we hope that Indie Shaman can help in some way to 'bridge the gap'.
